API Types

There are two types of APIs with respect to data.

• Inbound API

• Outbound API

Inbound API

Any API that is configured as a source is considered as an Inbound API. Inbound means data will come into middleware from this API source.

Outbound API

Any API where data is going out of middleware can be configured as an outbound API. There are two possibilities when data is going out. First is where outbound data can be pulled from middleware and the other when outbound data is pushed to some other API.
